A newly constructed playground opened earlier this month in the west metro. It has been dedicated to the memory of Eli Hart, a 6-year-old kindergartner who was murdered by his mother in 2022.
In December of 2021 the courts awarded custody of Eli back to his unstable mother, despite objections by Eli’s family and foster family.
Five months later, Eli was brutally murdered by his own mother—he was six years old.
We owe it to Eli and thousands of other kids to improve the child protection system here in Minnesota. Every child deserves to be free to play without fear of being abused.
