Daunte Wright’s killing has filled us with anger, grief, and sadness that many of us get to live in safety while others must live in fear.
Our mission at Safe Passage for Children is about child safety and well-being. But we work in a country where Black citizens of all ages are continually harmed by racist actions and attitudes, which takes a special toll on children. None of us can continue to live with this. We must learn to render justice the same to everyone, irrespective of their race and culture, or whether they be individuals, families, children, youth, or adults.
The staff and board of directors of Safe Passage for Children are committed to listening with humility to those who are most directly affected by racism and to contribute to achieving racial justice in every way that we can.
