Fall Fundraiser Virtual Gathering

We hope you had a chance to join us at our annual fall fundraiser! This year a virtual gathering due to the coronavirus. We joined together on Wednesday October 13th from 12-1pm CDT to learn about critical issues for vulnerable Minnesota children and how you can help. The event was free and included a live-stream of the event. There was an opportunity to give to support Safe Passage’s work for vulnerable children at the end of the event.

Our presenters were:

MayKao Hang was appointed in September 2019 as the Founding Dean of the St. Thomas University College of Health, which includes the School of Social Work.  Previously she was the President and CEO of the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation, one of the three largest social services nonprofits in Minnesota.

Three outstanding current and former foster parents – Becky Gawboy, Crystal Leighton and Jean Gleason – will share the joys and frustrations of their chosen work in a brief video, including their insights into how the system works and recommendations for how it can serve children better.

Rich Gehrman, Executive Director of Safe Passage for Children of Minnesota. Rich is the founder and Executive Director of Safe Passage for Children. He is the 2021 winner of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Minnesota’s 2021 Mark Proctor Hero for Children Award.
