Jennifer M. Carlson (MSW, LICSW) presented an introduction to child protection and foster care. Jennifer is a Child Protection Investigations Unit Supervisor for Hennepin County Human Services and supervises a team of 8 investigators. Several of her staff help with collaboration between law enforcement and child protection, and her unit also specializes in foster home investigations. She has worked with Hennepin County for 6 years as both a screener and a supervisor, and also worked for 15 years at Anoka County in child care licensing and child protection. Prior to that, she was a hospital social worker at Shriners Hospital.
