Guidance from Harvard’s Kennedy School 622 468 Safe Passage for Children of Minnesota

Harvard Kennedy School professor Julie Boatright Wilson commented on our recent blog, “Why We Make a Difference”.

She suggested we rethink what she calls our “Question Zero”, which is to state the goal of our intervention in as close as possible to ten words or less.

She observed that the goal described in our current mission statement, “to ensure that children are safe and reach their full potential”, is the direct responsibility of the state.  She suggested we might revise it to more accurately convey our role as outside advocates.

We are reflecting on this feedback along with other guidance that Dr. Boatright Wilson and her colleagues have developed in this framework.  We commend it to your reading as the clearest and most succinct roadmap around for measuring nonprofit results.
