Join us for breakfast on October 7 2560 1707 Safe Passage for Children of Minnesota

Tuesday, October 7th, 2025 | 7:30 am
2025 Safe Passage for Children Legislative Breakfast & Fundraiser
Minneapolis Club
729 2nd Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55402

In 2024 at least 24 children in Minnesota tragically lost their lives — and thousands more were harmed — due to abuse and neglect. These heartbreaking statistics remind us of the need to ensure all children are protected. If we don’t speak up for them, who will?

Safe Passage for Children of Minnesota is working alongside legislators and partner organizations to push for effective, child-centered safety policies. Board President Dr. Lisa Hollensteiner will recap Safe Passage successes during the 2025 Minnesota Legislative Session.  This event is your opportunity to learn more about our critical advocacy—and how you can help make a difference.

We’ll hear from the parents of Eli Hart, a young boy whose 2022 death made national headlines after he was returned to his biological mother despite numerous red flags. Their powerful story underscores the life-and-death importance of having effective and consistent policies that protect children.

Representative Nolan West (R-Blaine) will be honored with our 2025 Child Safety MVP Award for his leadership in authoring key legislation this past session aimed at preventing child maltreatment.

Safe Passage’s Ireland Fellow, Courtney Annakin, will be presenting the findings of our 2023-2024 Child Fatality Report. This sneak preview will present the themes and common fact patterns featured in the upcoming report, illustrated by case studies.

Breakfast will be served. Donations to support our work are welcome and appreciated.

We hope you’ll join us for this meaningful morning of awareness, connection, and advocacy.
