Volunteers’ Impact at Legislature

Volunteers’ Impact at Legislature 750 529 Safe Passage for Children of Minnesota

Safe Passage for Children’s recent Day on the Hill was energizing and productive! Our volunteers had 64 meetings with 45 state Representatives and Senators. More follow-up meetings are scheduled. When the session ends in mid-May our advocates will have met with nearly 25% of all state legislators.

Thanks to all of you who are visiting your legislators this year!

In case you missed it, this brief video of recent remarks by House Speaker Kurt Daudt tells why these visits usually matter.

We hope that’s the case this year. Republican committee chairs have championed our bills to address child maltreatment. But rumors are that their House and Senate leadership won’t include any funding for these proposals in their final legislative packages.

Stay tuned to see if Speaker Daudt’s assessment proves accurate.Volunteers’ Imvolunteerspact at Legislature
